Connect in 7 steps

STEP 01
Create your Washoot account
Go to washoot.com and click Sign Up. Enter your phone number and create a password.
💡Use the same phone number you want to send WhatsApp messages from.

STEP 02
Connect your WhatsApp number
Click "Connect WA" in the sidebar → "Add Number". A QR code appears. Open WhatsApp on your phone → three dots (⋮) → Linked Devices → Link a Device → scan the code.
💡Your phone needs internet while scanning. The connection stays active in the background.

STEP 03
Connect your Shopify store
Click "Shopify" in the sidebar. Enter your store URL (e.g. mystore.myshopify.com) and click "Connect Store". You'll be redirected to Shopify to approve access — click Install.
💡Make sure you're logged in to Shopify as an admin before clicking Connect Store.

STEP 04
Customise your message templates
After connecting, edit the templates for Order Confirmed, Fulfilled, and Cancelled. Add your store name, emojis, and personalisation like {{customer_name}} and {{order_id}}.

STEP 05
Enable Abandoned Cart Recovery
Click "Abandoned Cart" in the sidebar and toggle it ON. Set a delay — we recommend 1 hour. Customise the recovery message. Washoot automatically detects abandoned checkouts and messages customers.
💡Set delay to at least 30 minutes — many customers return on their own within that window.

STEP 06
Set up AI Customer Support (optional)
Click "AI Chatbot" in the sidebar. Add your OpenAI or Gemini API key, set active hours, and write a persona. The AI will automatically reply to customer WhatsApp messages outside business hours.

Go live
Place a test order on your Shopify store using a phone number that has WhatsApp. Within seconds, that phone will receive a confirmation message. Your store is live!

Does this work with Shopify Basic plan?
Yes — Washoot works with all Shopify plans including Basic.
Will it interfere with my Shopify email notifications?
No — Washoot runs independently. Your Shopify emails will continue working normally alongside WhatsApp messages.
Can I connect multiple Shopify stores?
Yes — connect multiple stores under one Washoot account.
What currencies are supported?
All currencies — the message templates automatically include the currency symbol from your order data.
Does it work with Shopify Markets (multiple countries)?
Yes — messages are sent based on the customer's phone number regardless of the market they ordered from.
What if a customer replies to the WhatsApp message?
Replies come to your WhatsApp number directly. You can reply manually, or enable the AI Chatbot to handle common questions automatically.
